Weekend Update: The best surprise date night ever!

I have to start this post by saying, I am the luckiest girl in the world.  I am so blessed to have an amazing husband.  As horribly cheesy as this is, I had to share.  I saw this on Facebook, and no I did not share it on my wall.  Instead I'm sharing it on my blog. =)

My hubby knows that I'm not big into grand gestures for <insert the obvious here> Valentine's Day, Anniversary, etc.  I like small things randomly and just because.  The flowers that get brought home on a Wednesday, just because.  Or in this case, the surprise date night at home with all of my favorites.

I may or may not have guessed ahead of time, but it only made the surprise better because I got to make key lime pie to go along with it.  But I only guessed about the meal.  The rest of the night was a total surprise.  Friday night, I got home from work to this:

A beautifully set table using our Waterford wedding china and crystal and white roses.  I just love our table set with white roses.

To top it off, not only did my darling hubby have my favorite meal shipped from Florida (stone crabs), set a beautiful table using my favorite china, but he also got a bottle of my favorite champagne (Taittinger).

It was a completely extravagant, totally over the top night that was so special.  And that we decided needs to be repeated once a year.  Just because.

The rest of the weekend was relatively boring quiet in comparison.  Saturday we spent most of the day at school (aka my work) for a big basketball game.  I sold raffle tickets and helped with crowd control while my hubby took pictures.  We were both exhausted by the time we got home Saturday night and had a quiet night in of take out and a movie.

Sunday was also quiet filled with sleeping in, laundry and other household chores.  We snuggled in to watch the Oscars and called it a night.

Thank you again hubby for an amazing date night Friday night.  It was definitely one for the books.  Mwah.

How was your weekend?
